Cis-Regulatory Elements (CRES)
The eukaryotic genome comprises both coding and non-coding sequences. Less than three percent of the genetic transcript can produce proteins in the eukaryotic genome, but only one percent of the human genome makes up the coding region. This leads to further investigation of the non-coding region present in the eukaryotic genomes. Enhancers, suppressors and insulators are DNA regulatory elements embedded in multicellular organisms that regulate gene expression.
